Details:

In Their Shoes is Central Outreach and Advocacy Center’s annual fundraising walk that invites participants of all ages to step into the realities faced by neighbors experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, this two-mile, family-friendly walk offers a meaningful and accessible way for individuals, families, churches, and small groups to engage and make a tangible impact in downtown Atlanta.

Led by COAC staff, the walk includes intentional stops along the route—including a visit to the nearby Department of Driver Services, where many guests take a critical first step toward stability by securing a state ID or driver’s license. Along the way, participants gain insight into the barriers our neighbors face and how advocacy, essential resources, and community support open doors to hope and opportunity.

In Their Shoes is designed for all ages. Families are encouraged to walk together and engage in age-appropriate conversations about compassion, dignity, and community. Churches and small groups are also invited to form teams and walk together in support of our neighbors.

If you’re unable to attend, you can still make an impact by donating to COAC. For more than 28 years, COAC has provided wraparound services that help prevent and overcome homelessness.

AMIS - Afternoon of International Tea

AMIS (the French word for 'friends') is pleased to announce its 3rd annual Afternoon of International Tea fundraiser!

Afternoon of International Tea
Saturday, April 25
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
The Overlook at North Avenue Presbyterian Church
Tickets & Sponsorship: amisatlanta.org/tea

The 2026 Afternoon of International Tea will bring the AMIS community together with new and old friends to exchange stories of international friendship and cultural exchange, while enjoying a sampling of international beverages and bites from around the world. The Tea is a wonderful opportunity to meet young adults representing their countries from all over the world as they share about their cultures through their curated tables and art displays. This event will also feature an exciting silent auction, entertainment and more! The event is open to the public. Please help us spread the word with your networks that may be interested in purchasing tickets, donating silent auction items and/or sponsoring the event!

About 16,000 international students are in the greater Atlanta area annually. AMIS supports many of these international students at Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Emory, Kennesaw State, Oglethorpe, Spelman, Agnes Scott, Morehouse, Columbia Theological Seminary, Georgia Southwestern State, Beulah Heights, and others with programs to make them feel welcome and at home in Atlanta. Each year, we welcome and connect hundreds of international students with local American friends in the community through our programs and events, including the Amigo Friendship program, local tours and hikes, social and sporting events, and holiday experiences such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our Afternoon of International Tea is our only annual fundraiser, raising the funds needed for staff and programming so we can continue doing this important work.

With all that is going on in the world today, our programs help bring international university students out of the shadows and let them know they are welcome and valued. And, in this small way, AMIS gives everyone the ability to be welcoming world citizens.

Ticket and sponsorship information for AMIS's Afternoon of International Tea may be found at www.amisatlanta.org/tea. Media and industry professionals interested in learning more about the AMIS Afternoon of International Tea are encouraged to contact the AMIS Project Coordinator, Alona Piatnytska, at alona@amisatlanta.org or 470.851.1248.
