Summer Meeting of the Presbytery
Tuesday, August 11, 2026
The Summer Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta will be held on Tuesday, August 11, beginning at 9:00am via Zoom. This message contains many important details about the meeting—please read it carefully. Registration for the meeting is required by the deadline of 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 10. No late registrations will be accepted. Pastors, please share this information with your clerk of session and elected ruling elder commissioners.
Format: Upon the decision of the presbytery’s Council, this meeting will be held fully on Zoom. Registration for the meeting is required by the deadline of 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 10. No late registrations will be accepted. Only one voting commissioner will be permitted on each Zoom connection. Further instructions regarding Zoom for this meeting will be included on page 2 in the commissioner handbook.
Theme, Worship, and Business: Our theme for 2026 is Faith Like a Child: Embracing the Gifts of Play, Wonder, Discovery, & Vulnerability. At this meeting, we will be considering the gift of discovery as we consider the ways in which learning together helps us to grow in our faith. We will be using the lens of Psalm 86 as we join the psalmist in the cry, “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.”
During the business portions of the meeting, we will receive reports from our commissioners and advisory delegate to the 227th General Assembly, hear updates from Presbytery staff and its committees and commissions on the ongoing work of the Presbytery, consider the ordination and transfer of minister members, and approve the Presbytery per capita rate for 2027. The commissioner handbook with the full business for the meeting will be published on the Presbytery website by July 30.
Registration: Registration is required by 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 10, so that our staff and volunteers can review and approve all registrations and prepare the Zoom meeting for all who will be attending. Each registrant will receive a confirmation email with their personalized Zoom connection information on the afternoon of August 10. No late registrations will be accepted, and only one person is permitted per personalized Zoom link.
Pastors and clerks of session, please share this information with your ruling elder commissioners now so that they can register by the August 10 deadline.
If you have any questions about the meeting, contact Stated Clerk Andy James at cajames@atlpcusa.org. We look forward to seeing you on August 11!
