Special Meeting of the Presbytery
Thursday, April 16 • 6:30 P.M.
The Council of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta is calling a special meeting of the Presbytery for Thursday, April 16, at 6:30 P.M. via Zoom. This meeting will consider two matters requested for action by entities of the Presbytery that require attention before the Spring Stated Meeting on May 12:
An amendment to the Presbytery Manual permitting the Commission on Preparation for Ministry to approve requests for the Presbytery to ordain candidates of this Presbytery on behalf of other presbyteries; and
Recommendations from the Hanbit Administrative Commission related to the congregation and property of the Hanbit Presbyterian Church.

The sessions of the Presbytery are entitled to send the same number of ruling elder commissioners to this special meeting as to all stated meetings. Commissioners may be the same as for the previous or upcoming stated meeting or may be elected specifically for this meeting. Once persons are identified to serve as commissioners, sessions can record the election of these commissioners at their next regular meeting, even if that meeting happens after April 16.
Registration for this meeting is required for all participants by the deadline of 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 16 via the registration link above, so that we can verify the registration list and prepare it for the meeting. No late registrations will be accepted. You will receive a confirmation email with your unique Zoom connection information once your registration has been reviewed and approved. Only one voting commissioner will be permitted on each Zoom connection. Further instructions regarding Zoom for this meeting are included in the meeting materials.

Spring Meeting of the Presbytery
Tuesday, May 12 • 10:00 A.M.
The Spring Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 9:00am until 3:00pm at the Calvin Center. This message contains many important details about the meeting—please read it carefully. Pastors, please share it with your clerk of session and elected ruling elder commissioners.
Format, Theme, Worship, and Business: Upon the decision of the presbytery’s Council, this meeting will be held fully in-person. The meeting will focus on our 2026 theme, Faith Like a Child: Embracing the Gifts of Play, Wonder, Discovery, & Vulnerability, as we explore the gift of wonder and how God invites us to use our imaginations to live, work, and play in childlike wonder.
At this meeting, we hope to step back from large amounts of business so that we can enjoy the gift of playful and imaginative time together. Meeting attendees are encouraged to arrive in time to enjoy special activities before the meeting is called to order around 10:00am and plan to stay after adjournment to enjoy all that the Calvin Center has to offer. A limited number of guest rooms are also available for the night before or after the meeting for those who would like to enjoy a more extended respite—contact Calvin Center directly at (770) 946-4276 or office@calvincenter.org for more information.
The business of the meeting will focus on those reports that require action, such as examination of candidates for ordination. For the sermon, we will welcome Revs. Tyler Brock and Jennie Sankey, two minister members of the Presbytery, to reflect with us on scriptures around the meeting theme.

Pre-Registration for the Meeting: Online pre-registration to assist Presbytery staff and meeting hosts with planning and arrangements will be open Wednesday, April 2, through noon on Tuesday, May 5. Ruling elder commissioners from congregations are strongly encouraged to pre-register so that we can appropriately track your participation. The pre-registration process is available at www.atlpcusa.org/statedmeetings. Lunch will only be available for those who have pre-registered and pre-paid for the meal.
Childcare: Calvin Center is making childcare available to those who pre-register for it by Tuesday, May 5, at noon.
Health and Safety: We encourage all attendees to use the time between now and the meeting to get current with covid and other vaccinations, and those who do not feel well on the day of the meeting should stay home. All are welcome to wear a mask throughout the meeting if they feel more comfortable doing so.
Pastors and clerks of session, please share this information with your ruling elder commissioners now so that they can register by the May 5 deadline.
