INFORMATIOn
The Winter Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00am until 2:30pm at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Please pre-register via this process by Monday, February 2, so that our hosts and the Presbytery staff can be prepared for our worship, work, and play together!
Our theme for 2026 is Faith Like a Child: Embracing the Gifts of Play, Wonder, Discovery, & Vulnerability. At this meeting, we will explore how God invites us to use our energy to glorify God and enjoy God forever as we play and grow together.
In the business of the meeting, we will hear updates from Presbytery committees and commissions, consider the proposed budget for 2026, review any overtures proposed for communication to the General Assembly, and examine several persons to be ordained as ministers of the Word and Sacrament. We will welcome Rev. Buz Wilcoxon, Lassiter Chaplain & Dean of Spiritual Life at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, as our preacher for the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, we will install our new moderator for 2026, Ruling Elder Brad Bryant from Shallowford. The commissioner handbook with the full business for the meeting will be available above by Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Following the business portion of the meeting, all are encouraged to stay for lunch and a time of learning and growing together in Sacred Play 101.
Play is more than recreation! With intentionality, play can be a sacred practice that forms us, restores us, and shapes the way we interact as God’s people.
You’re invited to join us for a thoughtful conversation on the gift of play and its role in the life of faith. Together, we’ll explore how play connects to theology, worship, spiritual practice, and how we live out our faith at home and beyond.
This panel discussion will be led by Tully Fletcher, Donnell Williamson, Melissa McNair King, Kim Magness, Kristina Johnson, and Deanne Townsend.
To participate, simply sign up and join us over lunch as we learn from one another and explore how play can deepen spiritual formation in our communities of faith and at home through the art of play!
Sign up and come ready to reflect, learn, and share.
