Covenant Presbyterian Church is poised to celebrate a major milestone in its history: its 100th anniversary. The church, which has been a cornerstone of the community since its arrival on Peachtree and Terrace, will kick off the celebrations on November 8-9, 2025 with a special weekend of events.
A Rich History of Service and Community
Covenant Presbyterian Church has a long and storied history that dates back to its roots in the late 1800s. From its early days as a small congregation meeting in the Good Templars Hall to its current status as a thriving, neighborhood church on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, CPC has remained committed to its mission of serving Christ and the community.
Kick-Off Weekend Events
The 100th anniversary celebrations will begin on November 8-9 with a special kick-off weekend. The events will include:
A College of Elders meeting on Saturday, November 8, at 9:00 a.m.
A worship service at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, featuring Rev. Dr. Steve Goyer as the guest preacher, followed by a reception
An album release event for Hannah DeLynn, who has been working with Atlanta Americana and the BRIDGE Cohort
These events promise to be a wonderful way to launch the anniversary celebrations, bringing together the congregation and the wider community to reflect on the church's history and look to the future.
A Year-Long Celebration
The kick-off weekend is just the beginning of a year-long celebration, culminating on May 3, 2026. Throughout the coming months, CPC will continue to mark this significant milestone with various events and activities that will highlight the church's rich history, its commitment to service, and its vision for the future.
As Covenant Presbyterian Church celebrates its 100th anniversary, it does so with gratitude for its past, joy in its present, and hope in God’s shaping of our future. The church invites all members and friends to join in the celebrations!
Goodness of God
The Goodness of God: A 102nd Anniversary Musical Celebration
On December 6 past and present members, neighbors, and friends of Rice Memorial PC will gather at the church to celebrate its anniversary. The Goodness of God: A 102nd Anniversary Musical Celebration will take place from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and feature performances by current and former members, guest singers/musicians featured at Rice events and others showcasing their talents in celebration of the church for the first time. In addition to the music, we will share information about the church’s history and acknowledge some of the other 100+-year old churches in the Presbytery.
We invite you to join us for the event, place an ad congratulating the church or any of its members in the souvenir program, and help get the word out to others.
