What is the New Church Development Commission?

One of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta’s key priorities is the creation of a vibrant ecosystem which empowers new worshiping communities and their leaders to thrive.

Our Mission: Enriching lives through the development of new worshiping communities where faith and real life intersect

Right now, we have 30+ communities under care (listed below). Each one of them is unique, with an inspiring story and a clear sense of call.

What does NCDC do?

We amplify unheard voices, build communities for those not currently connecting with church, and help unleash the potential of communities and leaders by providing LINCSS: 

1. Leadership Training

2. Infrastructure Support

   • Become Incorporated

   • Obtain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status

   • Create financial policies and procedures

   • Open a church bank account

   • Set up online giving

   • Collaborate with Homeland Security

   • Run start-up payroll

   • Insurance Assistance

   • Develop custom bylaws

   • Establish your Session or Leadership Team

   • Become ordained in the PCUSA

   • Receive tax deductible tithes & offerings

   • Charter as a PCUSA Congregation
