Plant Trees for a Greener Future

Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL) is looking to partner with congregations who want to plant FREE trees on-site. Through a grant from American Forests, GIPL has funding to provide free native trees and fruit trees to congregations in Metro-Atlanta in partnership with Trees Atlanta and FoodWell Alliance. Ideal congregations will have the following:

• Land to plant 10-50 trees

• A green team/volunteer group to maintain and water the trees (with a small grant to support these efforts from GIPL)

• Interest in planting the trees either this fall (October – December) or next Spring (January – March)

• Located in an EPA designated disadvantaged community (the funding restricts tree planting to certain census blocks to best address tree inequity).
