Columbia Theological Seminary invites you and your congregation to Advocacy Days 2026!

Theme: "Sanctuary as a Movement, Not a Monument"

Keynotes & Panels

  • Keynote: Anton Flores-Maisonet (Co-founder of Alterna) presents “Love Crosses Borders: Practicing Sanctuary as a Movement.”

  • Faculty Synthesis: Drs. Jackson Adamah, Mark Douglas, Mindy McGarrah Sharp, and Raj Nadella explore the Church’s role in navigating institutional safety vs. the gospel’s risky call.

  • Pastoral Witness: Leaders including Dora Muhammad, Tom Hagood, David Lewicki, and Alonso Johnson share practical insights from the frontlines of church advocacy.

Equipping for Action (Workshops & Training)
We aren't just talking about change; we are equipping you to lead it.

  • Advocacy Training: A dedicated intensive led by the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR).

  • Breakout Sessions: Over 6 workshop options focused on practical skills (e.g., affordable housing, legislative awareness, and immigrant justice) led by partners like Georgia Equality, Casa Alterna, Refuge Coffee, Children’s Interfaith Movement, Presbyterians for a Better Georgia and Faith in Public Life.
