On November 1, 1979, members of Clifton Presbyterian Church drove their church van downtown and convinced 3 men who were homeless to come back to the church where they could sleep on mats in the sanctuary, have a hot meal provided by loving volunteers, and take a shower. Every night of every year since then, men who are homeless have slept in the church sanctuary......pretty amazing! Clifton shelter was one of the first, if not the first, faith-based shelter in Atlanta and some of our volunteers have been volunteering for close to all of those 40 years.
